Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a substance derived from the patient's own blood. It is prepared by drawing a small amount of blood from the patient and then processing it in a centrifuge to separate the plasma, which contains a high concentration of platelets, from the other blood components. They contain various growth factors and other bioactive proteins that help stimulate tissue repair, promote cell growth, and encourage new collagen production. It can be injected into the scalp for hair restoration, as well as applied topically or injected into the skin for facial rejuvenation and improvement of various skin conditions. Hydrated skin tends to respond better to cosmetic procedures. Protect Your Skin: Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning beds in the days leading up to your treatment. Sunburn or excessive UV exposure can increase skin sensitivity and may interfere with the healing process after PRP treatment.
